What is Life Coaching?

Life Coaching
Life coaching involves "teamwork"! A life coach works collaboratively with each client to help them achieve personal and professional goals. He or she guides the client using coaching skills that allow clients to explore and find answers. A life coach is a motivational mentor who provides unconditional support, helps identify current obstacles, encourages clients who have trouble pushing through difficulties, and helps create a path that leads to success, clarity, peace, and happiness.

What is the difference?

How is it Life Coaching different from Therapy or Counseling?
A life coach helps clients identify what is happening now and what they want for
their future whereas a therapist explores issues such as family of origin and deep emotional trauma in order to unravel particular symptoms and behaviors. Therapy or counseling involves identifying issues in the clients past which stops them from moving forward, and often creates problems in their current lives. The following include, but are not limited to, why an individual would be encouraged to see a therapist: Major depression, mood disorder, alcohol or chemical dependency, OCD, rape or incest, suicidal or homicidal tendencies, and physical or extreme emotional abuse.
